Three-Cent Nickel: PCGS graded Proof

color being deep nickel blue and silver (on Liberty's frosted
visage.) None graded higher.

Nickel: PCGS graded Proof 67.
A superb example. The surface is toned a lovely nickel
blue with mirrors deep and watery. A razor-sharp
example. None graded higher.

A truly superb example. Deeply toned in shades ranging
from steel to blue with dusky lavender. None graded
higher.

Quarter Dollar: NGC graded Proof 68.
This ranks as one of the two finest known examples.
Mirror fields provide a superb background for the raised,
frosted figure of Liberty and eagle on what can only be
described as a true "cameo proof." The coin is
toned a warm russet gold that deepens on the reverse into
lavender and greenish-blue. None graded higher.

Half Dollar: PCGS graded Proof 66.
In keeping with the exceptional condition that the silver
coins exhibit in this set, the Half Dollar has deep
golden-russet, lavender, and blue.

Silver Dollar: PCGS graded Proof 68.
This coin exhibits incredible quality and freshness. The
fields, perfect; the strike, needle-sharp and perfect; the
color, impossible to duplicate on any other Proof in its
striking golden to deep magenta-purple and iridescent blue.
This is the closest to absolute perfection that can be found.

Trade Dollar: PCGS graded Proof 67.
Another superb example. Deep and watery, the fields are,
without question, pristine and original; that they are
free from hairlines goes without saying, and having toned gold
to blue they give a certain distinctive air to the whole
composition. Only one graded higher.

$1 Gold: PCGS graded Proof 66.
Toned a beautiful orange-gold. The Liberty head well
frosted and a very bold strike combine to produce an
unquestionably positive example.

|
Quarter Eagle: PCGS graded Proof 65.
An uncompromised Gem, fully warranting it's superlative grade.
The head on Liberty is full frosted; the surrounding field is
deep-mirrored with the traditional "orange peel"
effect. A stunning coin with only one graded higher.

|
$3 Gold: PCGS graded Proof 65.
Nearly identical in every respect to the Quarter Eagle from
this handsome set. It exhibits beautiful two-tone
contrast between the devices and mirror background, with a
mellow golden-orange color that can only have been acquired
over many long years. Only one example graded higher.

Half Eagle: PCGS graded Proof 66.
A truly gorgeous example. New obverse hub from the
master die, differing slightly in star positions (e.g. forth
to upper part of dentil, whereas on earlier dates it pointed
between dentils); stars all closer to border (especially
thirteenth), heavier and more rounded on points, tip of
seventh broken off at top, eighth and ninth normal. Date
slants up to the right; die polish at IBERTY, eye, and along
jaw line; dangling curl behind neck broken at very top, as on
most Proof obverses hereafter. None graded higher

|
|
|
Eagle: PCGS graded Proof 64.
A few light hairlines in the field and some of the golden
frost rubbed off Liberty's chin (although this may be the
minting process rather than after-the-fact.) Choice,
frosted (cameo Proof quality) and splendid in every way.
Only two graded higher.

|
|
|
|
|
Double Eagle: PCGS graded Proof 65.
A Cameo Frosted Gem! The Liberty head is rich and golden
frosted. The fields exhibit a beautiful orange-peel
mirror quality and almost completely lack the oft-seen
hairlines and other little impairments that afflict large gold
Proofs, making this one of the finest ever certified.
Only one graded higher.
